US secretary of defense visits Kurdistan's Erbil

BAGHDAD - 23 August 2017: US Secretary of Defense James Mattis paid on Tuesday a visit to Erbil city of Kurdistan Region in Iraq.

Mattis is expected to meet President of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region Masoud Barzani and other senior officials to discuss with them issues of mutual concern, according to the National Iraqi News Agency.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government Qubad Talabani received Mattis at the airport.
