Naguib Sawiris replies to Qatari anti-UAE allegations

CAIRO – 20 August 2017: Egyptian billionaire Naguib Sawiris replied to the allegations by the Qatari ambassador to Turkey against United Arab Emirates (UAE) of supporting counter-revolutions in Arab countries on Sunday. Sawiris tweeted “It is you who supported terrorism.”

The Qatari ambassador Salem Al-Shafi’s statements came in response to the interview of Anwar Qarqash, Emiarti minister of state for federal national council affairs and minister of state for foreign affairs, in the Turkish newspaper Cumhuriyet.
In the interview published on August 7, Qarqash stressed on Qatar’s support for terrorism.

On June 5, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates cut ties with Qatar over accusations of supporting and funding terrorist groups.
