Syrian army fully control new areas in western Qalamoun

DAMASCUS - 19 Aug 2017: Syrian Army units on Saturday took over areas in western Qalamoun in Rif Dimashq.

Army units fully controlled hills and heights in Harf Wadi Farah, Ra’s Shabet al Magharah, Qurnet Shmais Dawar Khanjar, Shabet al Souqi, Wadi Dawar Khanjar, Shmais al Zamrani, Thanaya al Hariq height, Wadi Masoud, Wadi Abu Khdair, Shabet Sourour, Qqaber al Irsali and Khrbet al Eileh after carrying out intensive operations targeting Daesh terrorists, the Syrian news agency SANA reported.

The army operations destroyed a number of Daesh fortifications, killing and injuring a number of the terrorists, SANA said.

Meanwhile, the army units in cooperation with the Syrian Air Force conducted intensive strikes against gatherings and positions of Daesh terrorists in Deir Ezzor province, SANA added.

A number of Daesh terrorists, including Iraqi terrorist Ahmed al Obaidi, were killed in the clashes in addition to destroying their arms and equipment, SANA further said.
