Damietta Port receives 8 vessels over past 24 hours

DAMIETTA - Egypt - 19 August 2017: Damietta Port received over the past 24 hours 8 ships, including three container ships and five cargo vessels, the Damietta Port Authority's Media Center said in a statement on Friday.

Eleven vessels are in the anchorage area waiting for their entrance procedures to be completed, the statement added.

The statement noted that three container ships left the port.

The export traffic at the port included 2,000 tons of Urea, 5,500 tons of Molasses and 4,762 tons of phosphate, the statement read.

The port's grain silo is currently holding 143,147 tons of wheat along with 39,205 tons at the private sector's stores, it noted.
