GAZA CITY - 19 August 2017: A Palestinian was shot and injured with a live bullet, and others suffocated by tear gas during clashes that erupted Friday in multiple locations along Gaza borders, WAFA news agency reported.
Israeli forces stationed at military watchtowers along Gaza borders with Israel opened live fire at a number of Palestinians for allegedly coming too close to the border fence to the east of Jabaliya, in the northern Gaza Strip, shooting and injuring a youth in the chest.
The youth was transferred to hospital for medical treatment, where his condition was described as stable.
A number of Palestinians reportedly suffocated after inhaling tear gas canisters used against them by soldiers.
Clashes also erupted between Palestinians and Israeli forces near Nahal Oz Israeli military outpost along the border east of Gaza.
Similar clashes broke out to the east of Rafah and Khan Younis cities, south of the Strip, as well as to the east of al-Bureij refugee camp, in central Gaza.
