HURGHADA, Egypt - 18 August 2017: As many as 4,871 pilgrims have so far left Nuweiba Port for Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj, said spokesman for the Red Sea Ports Authority Malak Youssef.
The port also received 446 passengers, nine trucks, two cars, two buses and 14 coolers, Youssef added in statements on Friday.
Two ships left Nuweiba port carrying 917 passengers, including 679 pilgrims, 20 buses and 15 cars, he said.
The spokesman added that Zaitiyat Port received a ship laden with 5,000 tons of butane gas from the Saudi port of Yanbu.
Meanwhile, Youssef noted that Safaga port witnessed the arrival of 417 passengers, 45 trucks and 54 cars aboard three ships, while three other vessels carrying 1,157 workers aiding pilgrims, 126 trucks and 23 cars left the port.
