CAIRO- 17 August 2017: The Libyan National Commission for Human Rights (LNCHR) condemned the delay in concluding the cases of the murder of former leader of Libya Muammar Gaddafi in court and accused the former Emir of Qatar of killing him.
In a report published on Thursday, the commission criticized the performance of the International Criminal Court in concluding the case, saying that this is a violation of the international humanitarian law and of the Geneva Conventions on prisoners of war and armed conflicts.
Regarding its accusations against Qatar, the commission demanded the United Nations form a committee to investigate the case, noting that there are information and reports affirming Qatar and France’s role in the murder of the leader.
The report said that the former Emir of Qatar ordered his special security apparatus to interfere, as the Libyan leader was holding documents proving the involvement of the tiny Gulf nation in terrorism crimes in Afghanistan and Somalia.
Also, Gaddafi is alleged to have received documents proving attempts by Qatar to create chaos and support the opposition forces in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Syria and Yemen, the report added.
