CAIRO – 15 August 2017: “Muslim Brotherhood committed horrific crimes during Rabaa’s sit-in; the timing of state intervention to stop it was ideal,” Tharwat al-Kharabawi, the former leader of the Muslim Brotherhood said on Monday during his on-air interview in Akher El nahar sunset times on Al-Nahar TV channel.

On August 14, 2013, security forces set out to disperse the Muslim Brotherhood-dominated sit-in in Nasr City’s Rabaa al Adawiya Square, along with another sit-in located in Giza’s Nahda Square.

The Rabaa al-Adawiya sit-in, which was proven to have been armed to the teeth, was primarily forged by former Muslim Brotherhood affiliated President Mohamed Morsi supporters and sympathizers in support of his alleged legitimacy.

“The terrorist group was well aware that the patience of the state will run out, and they will eventually bring it to a close. So, the brotherhood resorted to collect bodies in front of the cameras, claiming that they are the victims of the dispersal to seek fake sympathy.” kharabawi added, “ We have all seen with our own eyes that these corpses were actually moving, what a cheap game show!”
