CAIRO – 15 August 2017: The Supreme Judicial Council chaired by the head of Cassation Court Chancellor Magdy Aboul Ela decided to put into effect a decision made in 2010 to halt the broadcasting of trial sessions.
The decision was initiated upon a request filed in July 2017 by Chancellor Mohamed Abdel Mohsen, the head of Judges Club, and that was approved by the council on August 2.
The council addressed on Tuesday the Minister of Justice Chancellor Hossam Abdel Rehim to abide by the decision, which the council members view as non-disruptive to the openness of sessions; attended by attorneys, plaintiffs, and defendants.
