CAIRO -13 August 2017: An Egyptian man was accused of hugging a woman against her will in an elevator in an apartment building in Dubai, according to the Emirati newspaper “The National”.
According to the Canadian woman, the man was drunk and started talking to her in the elevator and told her, "I am sad and need a hug.” So, he forced her into a hug while she screamed at him.
The pair knew each other and had talked on Whatsapp. According to the defendant, she stood in front of the Dubai Criminal Court, where he accused the woman of, “drunkenly embracing him first.”
However, the accused denied the charge. The trial was then postponed until September 6.
