CAIRO – 11 August 2017: Two trains crashed in Alexandria on Friday leaving around 20 dead and dozens injured, according to the director of Ambulance Authority in Western Delta Mohamed Abu Homs.
The collision took place in Khorshid district in the Mediterranean city, where the two passenger trains coming from Cairo and another coming from Port Said crashed.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Health said that the toll of injuries rose to 88.
State of emergency was raised at all hospitals to receive the injured.
El-Mery University Hospital in Alexandria received 22 injured thus far.
