CAIRO – 10 August 2017: August is rolling around with a number of satisfying treats for astronomy lovers and sky-viewers.

“Egyptian sky viewers can view the meteors fall-out on August 10-12,” member of National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics in Egypt, Ashraf Latif Tadros said, adding that the iconic astronomy event will not come around for another 96 years.

Good news that there is no need to bother about how to get telescopes to see the meteors shower, as Tadros contended in a statement that this could be obvious to the naked eye.

Tadors further said that it is possible to watch up to 100 meteors falling per hour, highlighting that the best times to see the meteors shower is at evenings and that there is nothing dangerous about it.

A meteor shower occurs when the Earth passes through comet’s debris; they get burnt up, leading to the creation of millions of meteors.

Also, On Monday, August 21, 2017 all eyes are set on North America, where it will experience the second largest, coast-to-coast total solar eclipse in history.

In statements to the state-owned news agency MENA, the head of the institute Hatem Ouda confirmed that the total solar eclipse will not be visible to sky-watchers in Egypt and other Arab countries.
