PARIS - 9 Aug 2017: French counter-terrorism prosecutors have opened an investigation into an attack that targeted a group of soldiers in a Parisian suburb, injuring six of them, according to ABC News.
A car rammed into the soldiers earlier Wednesday in what the Mayor called a "deliberate act".
The driver's motive is unclear, but officials said he deliberately aimed at the soldiers.
France's police department said on Twitter that a search for the vehicle was continuing.
Authorities are checking video surveillance of the area near the city hall to identify the vehicle and hunt for the driver responsible.
French officials said witnesses described seeing a BMW with one person on board waiting in a cul-de-sac near a building used for soldiers
