RAMALLAH – 4 August 2017: Israeli occupation forces stepped up security measures in al Quds (occupied East Jerusalem) ahead of Friday prayers, amid a detention campaign that targeted several Palestinians in the West Bank, including a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council.

According to local sources, the Israeli forces arrested two Palestinian youths in Silwan town, while Mohamd Abu Tair, member at the Palestinian Legislative Council was also nabbed in al Bireh city near Ramallah, where clashes erupted between Palestinian civilians and Israeli forces.

No injuries were reported in the clashes.

Separately, Israeli forces arrested a Palestinian young man and wounded another after they raided Qalandiya refugee camp, which is located between Ramallah and al Quds.
