CAIRO - 3 August 2017: Egypt’s Defense Minister Sedqi Sobhi discussed in a meeting Thursday with visiting South Korean Adm. Um Hyun-seong, the Navy chief of staff, the latest regional developments and the current challenges in the regional and international arenas.
Also, the two army commanders touched on efforts aimed at achieving peace and maintaining security and stability in the region.
For his part, Sobhi expressed his gratitude for strong relations binding the two countries and their identical views on means to boost bilateral cooperation.
Furthermore, Armed Forces Chief of Staff Mahmoud Hegazy met with the South Korean naval forces’ commander and his accompanying delegation.
They exchanged views on the latest developments at the regional and international levels, and their repercussions on regional and international security and stability.
Moreover, Hegazy expressed his hope that the coming period will see an increase in military cooperation between the two countries’ armed forces.
In a related context, Um Hyun-seong asserted that his country is keen to foster military relations with Egypt as a pillar of stability in the Middle East region.
