CAIRO – 1 August 2017: The project for establishment of a unit for manufacture of artificial limbs and paralysis devices was inaugurated on Monday, July 31, 2017 in the attendance of the Minister of Embassy of Japan to Egypt Kenichiro Mukai and many Egyptian officials.

The project was supported by Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots and Human Security Projects ($90,908), a scheme which provides support to non-profit and non-governmental organizations in order to improve basic human needs.

During the ceremony, Mukai paid tribute to the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services (CEOSS) for its long-standing contributions and efforts to work in the field of social development. He stressed the importance of strengthening the tie between Egypt and Japan and expressed his determination to continue supporting organization’s collective efforts.

The manufacturing unit produces and provides artificial limbs where modern technology will be utilized to improve the lives of disabled people living in Egypt.

The project aims to expand the physical capabilities of individuals with physical difficulties, and is considered a step forward to enable more disabled Egyptians and help them reach a wider potential.
