CAIRO – 31 July 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi directed the government to implement recommendations presented at the 4th National Youth Conference (NYC) held in Alexandria last week, said presidency spokesman Alaa Youssef in a statement released Sunday.
The meeting included the Prime Minister, Sherif Ismail, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), Ministers of Defense, Interior, Justice, Finance and Supply, the General Intelligence Chief, and head of Administrative Control Authority to review the results and recommendations of the NYC.
During the meeting, President----Sisi stressed the need to implement the conference’s recommendations, as well as the periodic and continuous follow-up of the implementation of the decisions and mandates issued to the government and the concerned authorities in the country.
Sisi added that the most important proposed projects for implementation are those in West Delta governorates, considering complaints and proposals submitted by citizens, the completion of the new administrative division for all the state’s governorates, and preparations for the World Youth Forum, that is scheduled to be held in November.
They also discussed measures to establish a database system, with the participation of all concerned institutions and authorities. The president asserted that is a national project that will provide an integrated database for the state of Egypt.
The conference examined a report on the steps taken to establish the General Authority for the Development in southern Upper Egypt. It was announced at the 3rd NYC held in Aswan last January, which aims to provide job opportunities for the people of Upper Egypt.
The meeting also tackled the government efforts to provide basic food commodities on the market in adequate quantities and at affordable prices, and to maintain sufficient strategic stocks. The president stressed the need to increase the supply of meat and livestock before Eid al-Adha.
The minister of supply presented to the meeting the measures taken by the ministry under the plan to restructure the bread subsidy system, stressing that the new system aims to improve the quality of the produced bread, control bakeries and how to avoid the problems of the old system, taking into account keeping the stability of bread prices as is without modification.
Youssef pointed out that the implementation of the sustainable economic growth program had been followed. The Governor of CBE and the finance minister also presented the measures being taken to develop the foreign exchange reserves and monitor the developments in the exchange rate of the pound against foreign currencies.
On the other hand, the meeting addressed the latest developments on the efforts to remove encroachment and violations on state land. . The President stressed the importance of continuing coordination among all concerned bodies to follow up implementation of the removal of encroachments.
