Damascus calls on UNSC to dismantle int’l coalition against Daesh

DAMASCUS - 31 July 2017: Damascus has called on the UN and the UN Security Council to dismantle the international coalition fighting Daesh group in Syria.

This came in two messages sent to the UN and UNSC chiefs, urging them to bear their responsibilities in keeping international peace and security and stop targeting the Syrian people.

Damascus described the coalition as illegal, as it was formed without a request by the Syrian government and not as part of a UN framework.
