CAIRO – 26 April 2026: A total of 602 inmates were granted release from jail on Saturday, as per a presidential pardon on the occasion of the Sinai Liberation celebrations.

 

The Community Protection Sector of the Ministry of Interior had carefully reviewed the legal cases of the inmates to ensure they met the legal criteria allowing them to return to their communities and start a new life with their beloved.

 

This gives compliant inmates a second chance to reintegrate into society and contribute to its development, particularly on cherished national occasions that embody the values ​​of sacrifice and liberation.

 

Joy swept through the released inmates and their families, who awaited them at the gates of the correctional facilities [prisons]. They expressed their gratitude for this humanitarian gesture, which reunited them on the anniversary of the liberation of the precious Sinai Peninsula.
