Officials from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan discuss de-escalation efforts in Islamabad

CAIRO – 15 April 2026: Ambassador Nazih El-Nagari, Assistant Foreign Minister and Director of the Research, Assessment, Political Planning, and Crisis Management Department, participated in a meeting of senior officials from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey in Islamabad on Wednesday.

The meeting focused on regional developments and explored collaborative strategies to restore stability to the Middle East and surrounding regions.

During the talks, participants emphasized the necessity of achieving security and stability based on international law and principles. Key points of agreement included respecting the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of states, upholding the principle of non-interference in internal affairs, and recognizing the right of peoples to self-determination.

Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar received the senior officials from the four nations. He briefed the delegation on regional developments and highlighted Pakistan's ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions between the United States and Iran.

He further discussed with representatives from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey practical steps to reduce regional tensions, contain escalating situations, and restore long-term security and stability to the region.
