WASHINGTON – 8 April 2026: President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that the United States will be helping with the traffic buildup in the Strait of Hormuz, following a last-minute ceasefire agreement with Iran.

“A big day for World Peace! Iran wants it to happen, they’ve had enough! Likewise, so has everyone else!”

“The United States of America will be helping with the traffic buildup in the Strait of Hormuz. There will be lots of positive action! Big money will be made.”

Early on Wednesday, Trump announced a two-week double-sided ceasefire with Tehran aimed at halting six weeks of US-Israeli strikes on Iran and retaliatory Iranian strikes across the region and facilitating negotiations to end the war.

The announcement came less than two hours before a deadline set by United States for Iran to open the strait, where roughly fifth of the world’s oil passes, or have their key infrastructure hit.

Trump said the ceasefire is contingent on Iran reopening the strait, a demand that Tehran has accepted, saying it will be carried out “in coordination with Iran’s Armed Forces and with due consideration of technical limitations.”
