Fires erupt at Kuwait's Mina Al-Ahmadi Refinery following drone attack

CAIRO – 3 April 2026: The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) announced that the Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery was targeted by a drone attack early Friday morning, resulting in fires across several operational units.

In a statement released Friday, KPC explained that emergency and firefighting teams immediately activated response protocols and are currently working to contain the blazes and prevent further spread.

The corporation confirmed that no injuries have been reported and that comprehensive precautionary measures were taken to ensure employee safety and facility protection.

KPC further stated that it is coordinating with the Environment Public Authority to monitor air quality in the areas surrounding the refinery.

The corporation noted that no negative environmental impacts have been recorded thus far as a result of the attack.

Emphasizing its commitment to the highest safety and security standards, KPC affirmed that it is implementing all necessary measures to ensure the continuity of operations and the protection of both lives and property.
