CAIRO – 14 March 2026: To develop fisheries and open wider export opportunities, the Suez Canal Aquaculture Company signed a cooperation protocol with the Lakes and Fish Resources Protection and Development Agency on Saturday.
The cooperation protocol aims to achieve integration between the two parties and exchange technical and administrative expertise in the areas of training, dredging, infrastructure work, and other related fields.
The protocol includes several areas of collaboration, most notably training fishermen working on Suez Canal Authority fishing vessels and enhancing their professional skills according to the latest safe and sustainable fishing methods.
It also includes qualifying the authority's fish farms to obtain international quality and accreditation certificates, thus opening export opportunities and enhancing the added value of the products.
Additionally, under the agreement, an integrated quality management system will be established at the Suez Canal Authority's fish sorting, packing, processing, and freezing plant. This includes training employees on modern laboratory analysis methods and providing laboratory and analytical services to production sites and aquaculture projects, in accordance with best practices and approved standards.
