CAIRO - 7 March 2026: A telephone call took place Saturday, between Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, and Yermek Koshirbayev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The two ministers discussed the escalating military situation in the region and its serious repercussions for regional security and stability.
Minister Abdelatty reviewed the dangerous developments in the region and their political, security, and economic ramifications, emphasizing the need to de-escalate and prioritize diplomatic solutions to prevent the conflict from widening and to avert further tension and instability in the region.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister stressed that continued military escalation will only exacerbate the situation, emphasizing the importance of respecting the sovereignty of states and adhering to the principles of good neighborliness and restraint.
During the call, Minister Abdelatty expressed Egypt's complete rejection of the unacceptable and unjustified attacks on brotherly Arab states and Egypt's full support for their sovereignty, security, stability, and territorial integrity.
For his part, the Kazakh Foreign Minister affirmed that his country is following with great concern the developments in the region, appreciating Egypt’s pivotal role in reducing escalation and supporting diplomatic solutions.
He emphasized that his country has not made any changes to air traffic and travel advisories for its citizens heading to Egypt, noting that Egypt remains a safe destination for Kazakh citizens despite the dangerous developments and escalation taking place in the region.
