CAIRO-29 July, 2017: The Qatari authorities launched a new advertisement campaign targets American citizens in an attempt to improve the distorted image of the tiny Emirate in the light of the political dispute between it and four Arab states including Egypt, Saudi Arabia , United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
The new campaign highlights a series of American officials’ statements that came in favor of the rich-gas state, such as the US foreign Minister Rex Tillerson’s statement in July 11, in which Tillerson valued the US-Qatar partnership and praised Tamim Bin Hamad Emir of Qatar.
The campaign is set to cast a light on the cooperation between the tiny Emirate and the United States through several ads viewed online, when pressed on the viewer will be switched to the website of the embassy of State of Qatar in the US.
The campaign focused on the emirate’s role in creating jobs inside America by purchasing weapons, one of the ads says that the purchase of American F-15 aircrafts created60000 jobs in the American market, another ad touched the Qatari investment in City Center DC, a project in Washington by 1.5 billion US dollars.
The campaign alleges that Qatar has a key role in combating the terrorist militias of ISIS, by providing 300 military sorties against the terrorist group per day. It also celebrated a statement made by the Pentagon Spokesman Captain Jeff Davis in June, where Davis praised the Qatari role in supporting regional security.
The campaign also mentioned that the Emirate plans to invest in the economic development in America by amount of money estimated by 45 billion US dollars over the next five years.
Qatar is spending fortunes to evade the current political crisis with four Arab nations who cut off diplomatic relations with the tiny emirate, accusing it of funding terrorism and adopting policies destabilizing the region.
Qatar has also hired Portland Communications, London-based Public Relation agency, amid rising tension with neighboring countries, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain who imposed a travel and trade boycott on the tiny emirate after it has refused to meet the four nations’ demands of cutting ties with terrorist organizations.
In July 11, The PR agency started to use vehicles lifting huge banners that say, “Lift the Blockade against the people of Qatar”, to have them roaming the British capital streets.
