CAIRO – 28 July 2017: Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the UAE will meet next week to discuss the Qatar crisis, as announced by anonymous Bahraini officials on Thursday.
The meeting comes a week after another meeting was held that resulted in the labeling of 18 individuals and institutions as “terrorists”, as reported by Ozak newspaper that quoted anonymous Bahraini officials who are not authorized to brief the media.
“Manama is currently preparing for a second meeting among the Arab four countries,” the newspaper reported.
On July 25, the Arab quartet added nine individuals and nine entities to their terrorist list, including three Yemeni and six Libyan associations to their terrorist list, stressing that "these new measures come within the framework of monitoring the counter terrorism approach that the four Arab nations determined."
On June 5, the four Arab nations severed diplomatic ties with Qatar on charges of funding terrorist groups and supporting extremists. Qatar has signed a counter- terrorism understanding memorandum in partnership with the U.S. administration few weeks ago.
