President Sisi meets with northern military region commander

CAIRO – 27 July 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi discussed the latest developments taking place in the northern military region with Commander Ali Adel Ashmawi during their meeting Thursday morning.

According to presidential statement, Sisi said that all the major projects under implementation affiliated with the northern military region should commit to the previously agreed upon timeline. It was added that these development projects aim to “provide a decent life to all people.”

Several development projects affiliated with the northern military region are still under implementation and some were finished, including Mohamed Naguib military base, which is considered the biggest base in the Middle East and Africa.

Mohamed Naguib military base was inaugurated on July 22 with the participation of the president and several Arab figures, including Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Arabian Saudi King's adviser, Prince Khaled al-Faysal bin Abdel Aziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince of Bahrain Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The event was also attended by Kuwaiti Defense Minister Sheikh Mohamed Al Khalid Al Hamad Al Sabah and head of the Libyan National Army Khalifa Haftar.
