58 MB members sentenced to life imprisonment in Minya

sentences for an attack on a police station in the upper Egypt governorate of Minya.
The imprisonment verdicts in the case included five other defendants for 15 years, five defendants for 10 years, and two were sentenced to 7 years.

The defendants were convicted by the military court in Asyut on Thursday on charges including joining a banned group, attacking a police department and inciting violence and protests.

The defendants were earlier tried in absentia. They were later arrested and retried on the same charges. The court ruling Thursday is subject to appeal.
