‘Skillvy’ promising approach to productive skillful worker

CAIRO – 27 July 2017: Skillvy application is unprecedented initiative taken by a group of vocational education graduates mainly designed with the aim of training students to graduate as skillfully trained and qualified for a better job opportunity.

Societies of Tunnel-like vision perceive apprentices, craftsmen, and vocational education graduates as inferior compared to university or higher education graduates. Any society can never progress without an orchestrated effort between white and blue collar workers.

According to a study conducted on 17 industrial schools in Cairo over the last years, the rate of students’ attendance at vocational institutions does not exceed 30 percent of a total of 2 million students.
‘No secure future after graduation’ was the pretext behind the absence of 17,690 of the students. While 25 percent said they chose a vocational school to evade the General Certificate of Education stage (Thanawya Amma) and 42.8 percent said that they will be surely met by a debased outlook from the society.
Conversely, Skillvy adopted a positive stance and deemed technicians as of great value as the main gear for an increasingly developing country. Aside from the menial outlook to vocational education graduates, Skillvy timely appearance mainly intends to turn a graduate to a productive skilled worker.

"Skillvy trodden its first steps after 8 months of continual research and marketing. The current online website is still under construction. Our real launching phase will be in December 2017," said Mohamed Reda; the Executive Manager of Sillvy application, to Egypt Today in a phone conversation.

"Thankfully, our endeavors were crowned with a fruitful beginning. We were granted the approval, supervision, and financial support of Information Technology and Communication Chamber, and the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology," added Reda.
"Skillvy is an outlet aims to produce a highly qualified technician. We will upload a large number of educational video clips, provide a practical training to applicants, and help them find a job opportunity," Reda concluded his talk.

A vocational school, sometimes called a trade school or vocational college, is a type of educational institution, may refer to secondary or post-secondary education designed to provide vocational education, or technical skills required to perform the tasks of a particular and specific job.

In the case of secondary education, these schools differ from academic high schools which usually prepare students who aim to pursue tertiary education, rather than enter directly into the workforce.
