DAMASCUS - 26 July 2017: As many as 44 militants of Daesh terrorist group were killed in fierce clashes with armed factions affiliated to the Syrian Democratic Forces in Raqqa, RT channel reported Wednesday.
The clashes erupted as the Arab-Kurdish factions have thwarted Daesh attempt to end the siege laid to them in southern Raqqa.
The Arab-Kurdish factions, backed by the US-led coalition, have been launching attacks for 49 days on Raqqa, the Daesh main stronghold in Syria.
The Syrian Democratic Forces control about 40 percent of Raqqa, where 1,700 militants are stationed inside a historic castle in downtown.
