CAIRO – 11 February 2025: Jordanian King Abdullah II said on Tuesday that Arab leaders will come to the United States in response to Trump's plan regarding Gaza, noting that they will be presenting an alternative plan.
He explained during meeting with the US president Donald Trump that he ‘will do what is in best for Jordan.’
“We are waiting to see Egypt’s plan regarding Gaza,” King Abdullah said. The Jordanian King said that his country will receive 2,000 sick children from Gaza.
Jordan’s King has reaffirmed his country’s firm stance on the displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and West Bank.
“Concluded a constructive meeting with President Trump at the White House today. Grateful for the President’s warm welcome,” King Abdullah II said in a post on his X account following a meeting with US President Donald Trump.
“We discussed Jordan’s longstanding partnership with the United States. It continues to be a partnership for stability, peace, and mutual security.
I also stressed the importance of working towards de-escalation in the West Bank and preventing a deterioration of the situation there that could have far-reaching implications for the entire region,” the king said.
He added that Jordan and the US will continue to play “an active role with our partners to reach a just and comprehensive peace for everyone in the region.”
