Ambassador Alaa Moussa formally presented his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Egypt to Lebanon to Joseph Aoun, the Lebanese President
CAIRO - 6 February 2025: Ambassador Alaa Moussa formally presented his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Egypt to Lebanon to Joseph Aoun, the Lebanese president, in a ceremony held at Baabda Palace, the headquarters of the Lebanese Presidency.
During the meeting, the Egyptian ambassador conveyed the greetings and appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to President Aoun, expressing Egypt’s confidence in his leadership at this pivotal moment in Lebanon’s history.
Ambassador Moussa also conveyed Egypt’s optimism for a prosperous future for Lebanon, reiterating Egypt’s readiness to provide full support to Lebanon.
He also emphasized Egypt’s hope for the swift formation of a new government and the continuation of efforts to expand bilateral cooperation in various fields.
Additionally, Ambassador Moussa conveyed President El-Sisi’s invitation to President Aoun to visit Egypt at the earliest opportunity, a message previously shared by Egypt’s foreign minister during his visit to Beirut on January 31, 2025.
In response, President Aoun expressed Lebanon’s deep pride in its historic and fraternal relationship with Egypt. He thanked Egypt for its efforts, particularly through the five-member committee that helped resolve the presidential vacancy in Lebanon.
President Aoun reiterated his commitment to accepting President El-Sisi’s invitation and expressed his unwavering confidence in Egypt’s steadfast support for Lebanon.
Ambassador Alaa Moussa was among the first group of ambassadors to present their credentials to President Joseph Aoun following his election as President of the Lebanese Republic on January 9, 2025.
