CAIRO – 31 January 2025: Thousands of the Egyptian Civil forces headed towards the Rafah border crossing to stage a big protest against the US/Israeli plans of displacing the Palestinians to Egypt and Jordan and the liquidating the Palestinian cause.

Buses carrying protesters from various Egyptian governorates, including Port Said, Ismailia, Cairo’s Beni Suef, and the Delta's Beheira, passed through the Tahya Misr tunnels in Ismailia before heading to Rafah, which borders Gaza. The protest aims to show solidarity with the Palestinian people and to reject the proposed displacement plans and the ongoing attempt to eliminate the Palestinian cause.

The delegations, representing various Egyptian political forces, parties, unions, and civil society groups, are united in their opposition to statements made by US President Donald Trump, which suggest forcibly relocating Palestinians to Egypt and Jordan.

The protesters expressed their firm rejection of the displacement plans, calling them an attempt to liquidate the Palestinian cause and a violation of the Palestinians' right to self-determination. They also emphasized that Egypt has long been, and continues to be, a key supporter of the Palestinian cause. Displacement, they argued, is not a solution; the only viable path forward is the two-state solution based on the 1967 borders, as endorsed by international law.

Despite both Egypt and Jordan categorically rejecting the displacement plans, US President Donald Trump remarked on Thursday, "They’re [Egypt and Jordan] going to do it. We do a lot for them, and they’re going to do it."

On Wednesday, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi -during a joint press conference with his Kenyan counterpart- announced: “The displacement of the Palestinian people is injustice that we will never participate in.”

“Regarding what has been said about the displacement of the Palestinians, I want to assure the Egyptians that we can never tolerate or allow Egyptian security to be compromised,” he said.
