CAIRO – 28 January 2025: Egypt condemned Tuesday the attack on the Saudi hospital in Al Fasher city located in Sudan's Darfur region by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), and that killed about 70 on Sunday, including four children.

The hospital was the only one functional in the city, as 70 percent of hospitals where battles are taking place have been rendered dysfunctional. Hence, Egypt denounced the targeting of civilian infrastructure, public facilities, and healthcare buildings, as those acts constitute a violation to humanitarian international law and human rights.

The statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed condolences to the families of the victims, and called for de-escalation in the besieged Al Fasher in order to prevent the recurrence of human losses among civilians.
