CAIRO – 25 January 2025: In a heartwarming celebration, 4,466 inmates were joyfully reunited with their families on Saturday after receiving a presidential pardon, marking the end of years apart.
With smiles lighting up their faces, these citizens are stepping into a new chapter of their lives. The message is clear: change is always possible for those who seek it.
The inmates expressed their heartfelt gratitude to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for giving them a chance to reintegrate into society, vowing to stay away from crime in the future.
This mass pardon was part of the festivities honoring the 73rd anniversary of Police Day, which commemorates the bravery of Egyptian police who resisted British occupation forces in Ismailia in 1952, a struggle that cost many officers their lives.
Sisi paid tribute to the courageous police personnel who laid down their lives in service to the nation as he attended the Police Day celebrations on Wednesday.
“Their noble blood is a testament to their courage and valor in confronting the enemies and terrorists, the adversaries of our nation and our faith,” the president emphasized.
