CAIRO – January 23, 2025: Egypt condemned the Israeli military operation in Jenin, which has led to the deaths and injuries of numerous Palestinian martyrs.

In a statement released on Thursday, Egypt warned of the potential repercussions of this operation on the security and stability of the West Bank and the further escalation it may cause in the region’s security situation.

Egypt emphasized that this military operation undermines regional and international efforts to restore stability and calm in the occupied Palestinian territories and the wider region, warning that it could have severe repercussions.

When the Israeli occupation forces stopped its genocidal aggression against the Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip on January 19 as per a ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel, the occupation forces escalated its attacks and arrests against the Palestinians in the Jenin Camp in the West Bank.

The Jenin Governor said on Thursday that the occupation authority cut off electricity to large parts of Jenin camp and its surroundings, Jenin Governmental Hospital and Ibn Sina Hospital, and prevents fuel from reaching the hospitals.

The occupation forces burned a number of citizens' homes in Jenin camp, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.

Israeli occupation continues its aggression on the city of Jenin and its camp, resulting in 12 martyrs.
