CAIRO – 23 January 2025:  Hamas announced on Thursday that it will handing over the names of 4 Israeli detainees who will be released in the next batch, on Friday according to al Qahera news channel.

On Wednesday, January 15, an agreement has been approved to halt war in Gaza with Egyptian, American, and Qatari mediation, after nearly 15 months of suffering and violence that led to the killing of more than 46,707 Palestinian people.

Qatari Prime minister Mohamed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani announced in a press conference that the joint efforts between Egypt, Qatar and the United States of America contributed to the success of the discussions and negotiations.

The deal came into force on Sunday January 19, as three Israeli female prisoners were released, and other 90 Palestinian prisoners followed them after nearly 7 hours of waiting.

The spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Ubaida said that the movement made every effort to preserve the lives of prisoners held in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023.

The Red Cross said on Monday that release of the first batch of prisoners and detainees exchange deal was a complex process and required strict security measures to reduce risks to everyone.

“Our teams are ready to continue implementing the ceasefire agreement in Gaza until more prisoners and detainees are released and families are reunited,” Red Cross added.
