Egypt’s PM meets founder of World Economic Forum ‘Davos’

CAIRO – 22 January 2025: Egypt’s Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, met on Wednesday with Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, Klaus Schwab during his attendance of the activities of the second day of the World Economic Forum ‘Davos 2025’, on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance, Eng. Hassan Al-Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, and Ambassador Mohamed Negm, Egypt's Ambassador to Switzerland.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the ‘Davos 2025’ Forum and what it represents as an important international forum for decision-makers to discuss various international issues of common interest, stressing his aspiration to strengthen cooperation with the forum, and expressing Egypt's aspiration to host any future events of the forum in the region.

Professor Klaus Schwab welcomed the Prime Minister and expressed his appreciation for participating in the forum, stressing his aspiration to strengthen cooperation between the forum and the Egyptian government to achieve economic reform and comprehensive development in various fields.

During the meeting, the founder and CEO of the World Economic Forum expressed his welcome in principle to holding one of the forum's events in Egypt with the possibility of continuing consultations on this matter between the two sides, explaining that he looks forward to discussing the proposal with the possibility of thinking about a slogan for the event to be a focus and discussion during the meetings.

At the end of the meeting, Madbouly expressed his welcome to continuing consultations between the two sides on the proposal.
