Egypt, Serbia sign MoU on water resources

CAIRO – 22 January 2025: During his visit to Belgrade, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdelatty and Serbian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Aleksandar Martinović signed Wednesday an MoU on water resources.

 

The signing was attended by Serbian Prime Minister Miloš Vučević, after holding talks with Minister Abdelatty who stressed the importance of continuous political consultations on global affairs of joint concern as well as bilateral cooperation.

The two sides had already signed a free trade agreement in July 2024, and the joint economic committee is scheduled to convene in the second half of 2025. The sectors of priority are information technology, artificial intelligence, agriculture, food industries, renewable energy, and tourism. Both countries also contemplate cooperating on projects in African countries.

The Egyptian minister also met Serbian Minister of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Policy Nemanja Starovic as they discussed the possibility of training and employing Egyptian workers in Serbia, as well as Speaker of the National Assembly Ana Brnabic.
