Gaza under Israeli aggression - file
CAIRO - 21 January 2025: The head of the Palestinian Prisoners and Freed Prisoners Affairs Authority, Qadura Fares, praised Egypt's efforts to cease fire in the Gaza Strip, and complete and implement the terms of the agreement and the exchange deal.
Fares stressed that Egypt played a pivotal and major role with the members of the negotiating countries and mediators until we reached this agreement.
Fares said, in statements to the director of the Middle East News Agency office in Amman, via a phone call from Ramallah, that Palestine, its leadership, government and people highly appreciate all the efforts made to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, especially the efforts of sisterly Egypt, noting that this agreement represents a major qualitative development since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.
He added that this agreement was long overdue, but the most important thing is that it came in order to stop the Palestinian bloodshed and put an end to the Israeli killing, sabotage and destruction machine, noting that this war lasted for more than a year and included hundreds of thousands of Palestinian martyrs and wounded and the complete destruction of the infrastructure in the Strip.
The head of the Palestinian Prisoners' Affairs Authority expressed his hope that the ceasefire through this agreement would lead to a final halt to the Israeli war on the Palestinians, especially in Gaza, stressing that it is a great step towards a ceasefire and the hope that it will be an end to the war.
