CAIRO – 19 January 2025: Hamas handed over three female captives to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to be transferred to the Israeli army as part of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, which took effect on Sunday morning.
The captives who will be reunited with their families soon are Romi Gonen (24), Emily Damari (28), and Doron Steinbrecher (31).
Israel has submitted a list of 90 Palestinian prisoners set to be released in exchange for the three Israeli captives.
Thaer Shreiteh, spokesman for the Palestinian Prisoners' Affairs Authority, confirmed to AlQahera News that 62-year-old Khalida Jarrar, a symbol of Palestinian resistance, is on the list.
Shreiteh said the list will be announced to the public shortly, noting that it comprises 67 women and 13 individuals under 18 years of age.
