CAIRO – 16 January 2025: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration received Thursday a phone call from his UK counterpart David Lammy to discuss the updates of the Gaza War, and the ceasefire deal reached between Israel and Hamas Wednesday.

Lammy expressed his country's appreciation for the pivotal role played by Egypt to attain that deal. On his side, Minister Abdelatty presented the efforts deployed by Egypt, Qatar and the United States to broker the agreement, that also includes prisoner-hostage swap, and accomplish pacification.

The minister stressed the importance of a sustainable ceasefire, intensification of the supply of humanitarian aid across Gaza, rehabilitation of hospitals and healthcare units, and return of the displaced.

The Egyptian minister underscored the salience of implementing all stages of the agreement, and that Egypt would continue to coordinate with Qatar and the United States to ensure the execution of all commitments.
