CAIRO – 15 January 2025: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdelatty made Tuesday a phone call to Botswanan counterpart Phenyo Butale to express Egypt's eagerness for strengthening economic ties.

The minister added that the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD) could make available more training opportunities for Botswanans, and shed light on cooperation opportunities with the Southern African Development Community (SADC) whose secretariat is headquartered in the capital Gaborone.

The two sides also discussed African affairs, as they stressed the importance of intensifying efforts aimed at accomplishing stability and development on the continent, and of reinforcing African joint work.

Both ministers also underscored the necessity of coordination among African states at the international community level to advance common interests. Hence, they agreed on continuous consultations in the coming period, and reciprocating support to candidates running for international positions.
