Madbouly: Saturday is fully-paid holiday to mark January 25 revolution anniversary, Police Day

CAIRO - 14 January 2025: Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, issued a decision that Saturday, January 25, 2025, will be an official paid holiday, marking the occasion of the January 25 Revolution Day and Police Day.
 
PM Madbouly said that the holiday is for employees in ministries, government agencies, public authorities, local administration units, public sector companies, public business sector companies, and private sector companies.
 
Madbouly added that exams will not be affected by the holiday, and will continue normally if there are any exams coincided with the date of the holiday.  
 
The holiday marks both the 14th anniversary of the 2011 Revolution, as well as the Police Day. 
 
The day was marked as a Police Day to commemorate the massacre of 50 Egyptian policemen by British occupation forces in Ismailia in 1952.
