CAIRO – 12 January 2025: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs is closely monitoring the situation of the Egyptian community in Los Angeles County, California, following the outbreak of devastating wildfires across several areas of the state.
The follow-up operation is being conducted through the Office of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Egyptian Consulate General in Los Angeles, according to a statement released by the Ministry on Sunday evening.
The Consulate General is actively communicating with community members and their representatives to ensure their safety. Current information indicates that there have been no casualties within the Egyptian community, though some have experienced material losses.
The Ministry urged citizens to exercise extreme caution, avoid areas affected by the fires, and adhere to the warnings and instructions issued by local authorities. The Consulate will continue to monitor the situation and provide the necessary consular assistance, the statement added.
