CAIRO – 11 January 2025: The Egyptian Ministry of Health said the Saudi health authorities will enforce a decision requiring travelers to Saudi Arabia (as Umrah seekers or regular visitors) to be vaccinated against meningitis as of February 10.

The decision requires all those wishing to travel to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah or visit Madinah, Jeddah, Taif, or Mecca regardless of the type of visa to be inoculated against the disease 10 days prior to their travel.

The decision will not be enforced before February 10, Spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said in a statement on Saturday.
