Al Azhar, Yemeni Ministry of Endowment ink cooperation agreement

CAIRO – 9 January 2025: Egypt’s Al Azhar Al Sharif Institution and Yemeni Ministry of Endowments signed an agreement for granting scholarships and training courses for Yemeni Imams.

 

 

The signing of the agreement took place on the sidelines of a meeting between Al Azhar Grand Imam Sheikh Ahmed El Tayeb and Yemeni Minister of Endowment Mohamed bin Ayda Shabiba at Al-Azhar Sheikhdom in Cairo, on Thursday.

 

 

As per the agreement, both sides will exchange educational curricula and scientific missions, cooperate in the fields of preserving and maintaining manuscripts, verifying books of Islamic and Arab heritage, and enhancing cooperation in the fields of spreading Islamic culture.

 

 

The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar said that the world doesn’t care about the human tragedy in Gaza, wondering “how the savage world dares to support these monsters with weapons while their eyes see those [monsters in an indication to Israelis] are using them to exterminate innocent children and women. 

 

 

The Grand Imam added that history will not forget this tragedy and will not forgive its perpetrators and their allies. He affirmed that Israelis have returned history to the ages of ignorance and the law of the jungle and committed massacres that even animals in the jungles would abstain from.

 

 

For his part, Minister Shabiba praised Egypt’s for its pioneering role in always standing by the Yemeni people. He also praised the Sheikhs and Imams of Al Azhar, saying that the new agreement would help qualify preachers, orators and imams in Yemen.
