Weather expected to be moderate Thursday, warnings of dense fog on highways

CAIRO - 8 January 2025: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) expects that Thursday, January 9, 2025, the weather will be moderate during the day in most parts, warm in South Sinai and southern Upper Egypt, while it will be very cold at night and early in the morning in most parts, reaching the point of frost on crops in central Sinai.

 

The Authority further indicated that morning fog is expected, sometimes dense, on some agricultural and express roads and those close to water bodies leading to and from Greater Cairo, the North Coast, the Canal cities and northern Upper Egypt.

 

Chances of moderate rain are expected, according to EMA, which may be thundery and heavy, accompanied by hail sometimes in Matrouh Governorate.

 

The Meteorological Authority stated:

 

Greater Cairo to record highs of 22 degrees and lows of 12

 

Alexandria  to record highs of 22 maximum and lows of

 

Marsa Matrouh  to record highs of 20 degrees maximum and lows of 10

 

Sohag  to record highs of 23 degrees maximum and lows of 08

 

Qena  to record highs of 24 degrees maximum and lows of 09

 

Aswan  to record highs of 25 degrees maximum and lows of 11
