CAIRO – 6 January 2025: Egyptian First Lady Entissar El-Sisi greeted Egyptian Coptic Christians on the occasion of Christmas

 

The First Lady wrote - via her official Facebook page " I would like to wish many happy returns to the Egyptian people on the occasion of the blessed Coptic Christmas, a celebration that embodies both love and peace. I ask Allah the Almighty to preserve our unity and love amongst us. Many happy returns and Merry Christmas.”

 

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi attended the Coptic Christmas celebration on Monday evening at the Cathedral of Nativity of Christ in the New Administrative Capital (NAC).

 

During the celebrations, President Sisi wished the Coptic Christians a Merry Christmas and assured the Egyptians that his administration is dealing with all matters wisely.

 

“We as Egyptians have to consider all measures to protect our homeland and the most important one is the love between the Egyptians,” he said, adding “Love, awareness and understanding among the Egyptian are enormous and make them to deal with the matters [wisely] domestically and abroad.”

 

He also sent a message to the Egyptians to be sure that he is dealing with all matters with great honor, honesty and impartiality, saying “We are doing things in Egypt that many people may overlook […] I follow upon all matters and aware of all reactions.”

 

President El-Sisi presented a bouquet of flowers to Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, on the occasion of Christmas.

 

Upon his arrival, President Sisi was welcomed and received by Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, who led the Christmas mass.

 

The President also shaked hands with several attendants of Coptic Christians at the catherdral, wishing them a merry christmas. 

 

Just hours before his attendance, the Egyptian Presidency issued a statement, saying that President Sisi extended his greetings to the Egyptian Copts on the occasion of celebrating Christmas, on Monday evening.

 

President Sisi added that Egypt will always remain a beacon of coexistence, unity, and love among its people of various religions.
