Egypt stresses support to Somalia on combating terrorism

CAIRO – 5 January 2025: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdelatty made Sunday a phone call to his Somali counterpart Ahmed Moalim Faki in order to follow up on the outcomes of his visit to Cairo on December 23.

Minister Abdelatty stressed Egypt's support to Somalia's sovereignty, unity, independence, and security in alignment with the principles of international law. He also expressed backing to the efforts deployed by the federal government to combat terrorism, which in turn reinforces security and stability in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea.

The minister added that Egypt would continue to support Somalia's state institutions, and provide the technical assistance needed to fulfill the ambitions of the Somali people.
